A Typical Lake Tahoe Hotel
LAKE Tahoe, spanning Nevada and California, is so wide at 191 square miles that the areas surrounding it are all flocked with hotels enticing tourists who are here for skiing and other forms of water sports. These hotels are equipped with everything just like the regular hotels in an urban city – casinos and even golfing ranges. The focus though is still on water sports. Mind you, these hotels can even be towering with some as high as 20 levels tall. And the number of rooms is astonishing. Even a mere lakeside hotel can have as many as more than 500 rooms. And take note, all of these are fully booked during the peak winter season. So you better book in advance as a two-month notice to any of these hotels.
A typical hotel suite in Lake Tahoe has a king-sized bed, perfect for a honeymoon indeed. And by the way, if you want your wedding and subsequent reception to be done at the lakeside in the hotel premises of course, it can also be done there. No other wedding can be this romantic and its memory will really be cherished for a lifetime. Other features of a typical hotel suite in Lake Tahoe are a jetted spa tub (this is not present even in most four-star hotels back in the city), a kitchen complete with all the knives, utensils, stove, spoons, forks and plates that you need where you can sauté and concoct hot soup at your delight, cable television, DVD player, CD player with FM radio and subwoofer and of course high-speed Internet connection (both wired and wireless). Even in this seemingly remote location, most Lake Tahoe hotels are already accessible via cable which is less expensive than satellite. Be wary of Lake Tahoe hotels which advertise satellite TV as part of their room amenities, the resulting room rates tend to be expensive too as the hotel will cushion part of the satellite TV expenses to its customers.
The following are more amenities found in a Lake Tahoe hotel suite – a coffee maker, hair dryer, air conditioning, heater, your own fireplace in selected suites, a mini-bar, a digital safe, a washer and a dryer, iron and ironing board, international phone dialing, radio alarm clock and of course the reason why you’re there – a magnificent view of Lake Tahoe. Unlike other city hotels where the checkout time is at 12 noon, here in Lake Tahoe, it is at 10:00 a.m. while check in time is at 4:00 p.m. While being billeted at any Lake Tahoe hotel, you can take advantage of any winter sport such as skiing, boating, fishing, hot air ballooning over the lake, rafting, and water skiing, skim boarding at the lake, snowmobile and even skydiving over the lake.
In a typical Lake Tahoe hotel, you will not only enjoy American food but a horde of other gourmets as well like Italian, French and Pacific cuisine. Cafes are meant for quick snacks or late night breaks and desserts served there are intentionally low in calories.
